The Country Director explained that the distribution was necessary because this is a period when the Muslim brethren would need it most especially as they are currently fasting.

He said that vulnerable members of the society were chosen to benefit from the package because it was observed that it would reduce the burden of the fasting on them.

“We are giving out these food items to help the less privileged fasting Muslims and to cushion the effect of economic challenges”, he said.

Adesina further explained that the 2021 Ramadan Package would gulp N5.4 million adding that it is done every year by the charity.

Each package of the palliatives contains rice, maize, Maggi, salt, sugar, date, and groundnut oil.
