AFGHANISTAN. Kandahar: A video that went viral on social media showed the Taliban fighters moving towards Afghanistan freely through the Spin Boldak port on the Pakistan border.
Afghan President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani recently said that more than 10,000 foreign fighters came from Pakistan to support Taliban.

Spin Boldak is of the strategic areas of Afghanistan that fell to the Taliban following the fall of other districts of Kandahar. Weeks after, the Pakistan government has not opposed closing the gate, and the photos on social media posted by Taliban accounts showed that the Pakistan and the Taliban flag were installed side by side.
According to Afghan officials, Pakistan has closed Torkham, another shared gate and economic hub in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border which is in control of the Afghan government.
Former Director of Afghanistan National Security Rahmatullah Nabil warned that the Afghan government must restore the control of Spin Boldak due to the flood of foreign fighters to Afghanistan.
“Do not waste the last chance to save the homeland. If the situation continues like this and the government does not liberate Spinboldak soon. Daily, an average of 1,000 Pakistani militias and other foreign terrorists under the Taliban flags/uniform enter Afghanistan freely and are assigned to different provinces in quotas, ready for war and direct aggression on Afghanistan’s soil,” he said in a Tweet post.
“Currently, all employment and recruitment centers of terrorists have been initiated in several cities across Pakistan under the direct supervision and administration of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and Hezb-e-Mujahideen led by Hafez Saeed, Salahuddin, Abdul-Rahman Maki, and other terrorist organizations in collaboration with Abdullah Gol, son of General Hamid Gol.”
He stressed that the “disasters” that penetrate Afghanistan from every port and wall. Adding that The conspiracies are too big.
So far, the Taliban has captured some border crossing points like Islam-Qalha in the Iran-Afghan border and Torghundi port in the Afghan-Turkmenistan border, Sherkhan port in the Afghan-Tajik border, and Spin Boldak in Afghan-Pakistan border.
President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday said that the Taliban has no will for peace and wants Afghanistan “to become a haven for insurgents. “The government will never allow this to happen,” he said, adding that the Taliban has “deep ties” with Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The Taliban group has not yet reacted or commented on the claims. However, photos published on social media showed wounded Taliban fighters been admitted in Chaman hospitals near the Pakistan border.
The violence is unprecedentedly high in Afghanistan for the past months after foreign troops started the drawdown.
The fighting in the ground forced many residents from Kunduz, Laghman, Takhar, Badghis, and Kandahar provinces to leave their homes to save their lives.
The Afghanistan Ministry of Repatriation and Refugees said on Thursday that about 36,000 families have been internally displaced in the last four months as a result of fighting between security forces and the Taliban fighters.
“The ministry is concerned that the number of internally displaced people will increase significantly if the war continues,” the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the foreign troops’ withdrawal is to complete soon amid the surge in violence across Afghanistan. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at a press conference at the Pentagon said: “Our [Afghanistan] drawdown continues in a safe and orderly manner, and we are still on track to finish up by the end of August.”
The Pentagon estimated that over half of the centers of the districts of Afghanistan have fallen to the Taliban.
