Joe Biden And Boris Johnson To Hold A Virtual Meeting Of G-7 Countries

United States: A virtual meeting of G-7 countries is to be held next week. US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have agreed to hold this meeting due to the recent scenarios in Afghanistan.

The White House said that Both Biden and Johnson spoke over with each other regarding the recent circumstances that are occurring in Afghanistan.

The White House said in a readout of the phone call that, “They also talked about the need for continued close coordination among allies and democratic partners on Afghanistan Policy going forward, which includes further humanitarian assistance and support for refugees and other vulnerable Afghans”. The two leaders commended the bravery and professionalism of their military and civilian personnel, who are working together in Kabul on the evacuation of their citizens and Afghan nationals who assisted in the war effort.

Meanwhile, Ned Price, who is the State Department spokesperson told the reporters, “Just today the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohmmad Al-Sabah, thanking them for assistance in facilitating the transit of US citizens and Embassy Kabul personnel through Doha and Kuwait City”.

For those who don’t know what G-7 is, it is an inter-governmental political forum that consists of countries like Canada, Germany, The United States, Italy, France, Japan, and United Kingdom.

Kabul’s International airport, the only way out for the people who are in Afghanistan, reopened to military evacuation flights under the watch of US troops. Meanwhile the Commercial flights will remain suspended.
