INDIA: As the Chronicle 2012 was highly received by the audience and becomes an instant hit. Back in 2013, the film’s creators were discussing a sequel. Which was supposed to delve into the characters’ sinister origins. The film’s writer, Max Landis, tends to write a darker plot than the previous one. However, for whatever reason, it was canceled.

But now, Producer John Davis has officially confirmed Chronicle 2. This time, the spotlight will be on a group of female characters. Or, from a female perspective, in terms of Hollywood. Chronicle (2012) was directed by Josh Trank, who had previously directed Fantastic Four (2015).

The plot revolves around three friends who developed telekinetic abilities after coming into contact with an unknown object of unknown origin. It’s found-footage approach was the key component that gave it a sense of heroic powers mixed with realism. Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, and Alex Russell were the main characters in the film, and their outstanding performances, as well as the script, earned the film praise from both fans and reviewers.

Davis said that Chronicle 2 plans, which had been dormant for a long time, are now moving forward. It’s been ten years since the events of the first film. Davis suggested what else fans may expect from the sequel, implying Chronicle was one of his most profitable films to date. Although no director or writer has been named, Davis stated that Josh Trank will not be returning. “I truly didn’t want to see ‘Chronicle 2′ happen in 2020,”. That was the scariest nightmare I’d ever had.

Davis also stated ‘’ First and foremost, I’m not going to do it. Second, if someone else does it, you can be sure it will be a sham.” Expect a new screenwriter as well, given the original film’s author Max Landis is practically untouchable in Hollywood following multiple sexual assault allegations that surfaced in 2017.
