SINGAPORE: After the gradual fading of the pandemic, I sat down and searched for safe destinations, and the first name that clicked was Singapore. Yes, because Singapore is an amazing country that is both modern and incredibly beautiful. Language is no problem for a traveler here as everyone speaks English. Singapore, a great city to explore has a fantastic public transport system.  The subway system is one of the best in the world, and you can go pretty much to every single corner of the city at a very low cost.

Singapore has so many attractions that it is impossible for a traveler to explore all in one visit. Let’s check out the options:

Merlion Park, the national icon of the Lion City, Singapore houses two Merlion statues, a mythical creature made of two animals – the head of a lion and the body of a fish. The 70-tonne concrete statue, erected in 1972 is one of the must and most visited tourist spots of Singapore.

China Town, just like other China Towns all over the world is the most popular tourist spot in Singapore. It is a bargain hunter’s paradise with colourful streets, curio shops, and hawker centers selling all kinds of knick-knacks. It is also a multi-cultural neighborhood where Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist temples and mosques exist together.  When in Chinatown, do not miss eating at various food centers serving delectable Asian street food.

Buddha Relic Temple is located in Singapore Chinatown and is quite big and exciting. It is a Chinese Buddhist Temple where the left canine tooth of Lord Buddha is stored in a massive 320 kg, solid gold stupa, in a room on the 4th-floor room of the five-story temple.

Sri Mariamman Temple, one of the most exquisite temples, dedicated to Goddess Mariamman, a Hindu deity known for curing illness, disease, and epidemics is the oldest temple in Singapore. The temple dates back to 1827, is an architectural wonder – the ornate and elaborate detailing of the gopuram (tower) above the entrance is a sight to behold. The temple is a National Monument in Singapore.

Little India, the most visited ethnic neighbourhood of Singapore is the major hub of the Singaporean Indian community. The locality is known for the vibrant culture, fantastic Hindu temples, lip-smacking Indian street food, and shopping malls like Tekka Centre and Mustafa Centre.  

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore’s most iconic hotel is a resort complex and is the world’s most expensive standalone casino property. The infinity pool on the 55th story and atrium casino are the prime attractions along with Shoppes Mall, ArtScience Museum, and Sands SkyPark. The sound and light show in the evenings is a treat to the eyes.

Butterfly Park, located in the departure area of the airport is an amazing world of butterflies and is an indoor conservatory, and is home to more than fifty varieties of butterflies.

Gardens by the bay, the botanic gardens of the future, the land of next-gen Supertree groves – artificially made, electronic tree structures, home of the largest glass greenhouse in the world called the Flower Dome,

Sentosa Island, a tiny resort-island, home to themed attractions, sun-washed beaches, lush rainforests, amazing spas, and popular resort hotels,

The food scene, Singapore, incredibly famous for its food scene offers many incredible restaurants and the renowned Hawker centers for delectable South Asia street food.

MacRitchie Nature Trail, a perfect place for a quick getaway, an escape from the hustle-bustle of daily lives, and a popular spot for fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers is a lush nature trail and is full of pristine water bodies and a dense, secondary forest. You can go canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, and spotting wildlife like monitor lizards, macaque monkeys, flying lemurs, squirrels, and owls in this spacious park.  

National Orchid Garden, home to the largest display of tropical orchids in the world houses over 60,000 orchid plants.

Pulau Ubin, the only place with immense natural beauty in Singapore. There’re no white sandy beaches, but the eccentricity and charm of this little offshore island make it a magical place. Forested wetland teeming with wildlife, and the place of the remaining kampongs in Singapore, you can see glimpses of its past as a trading hub and fishing port at this island. The Chek Jawa Wetlands with lovely mangroves are added attraction.

Jurong Bird Park, is Asia’s largest bird park and houses over 5000 birds from around 400 varied species and is spread across 20.2 hectares, and is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

Clark Quay is the party hub of Singapore at the mouth of the Singapore River and comes to life during the night. It is a major tourist attraction flanked by stylish restaurants, high-end boutiques, and pushcart vendors with a fusion of Asian and European culture, nightclubs, river cruise bumboats, and floating cafes.

The Raffles Hotel, a National Monument is a hotel colonial style, and one of the world’s last majestic 19th century hotels,

Orchard Road, the shopping heart of the city,

Sim Lim Square, one of the world’s largest electronics shopping malls,  

Night Safari, World’s first nocturnal zoo,

Singapore Flyer, Asia’s largest giant observation wheel,  

Orchard Road, the main shopping street of Singapore, famous for luxury retail shopping,

Esplanade, Theatres on the bay – A performing arts center, etc.
