Cameroon’s Renowned Makossa Musician Nguea Laroute Exits the Stage

The legendary Makossa artist had been suffering from diabetics for several years

Louis Koubinom popularly known as Mama Nguea died this Sunday, June 14, 2020, after a protracted illness.
Cameroon, the legendary Makossa artist had been suffering from diabetics for several years. This led to the amputation of her two legs some months ago.

In a video that went viral over social media, the Cameroonian musician had attested to the fact that she was critically ill and couldn’t meet up with her medical bills. She pleaded on persons of goodwill to come to her aid. It led to massive donations from individuals and associations, she also received a special package from the country’s Ministry of Arts and culture.

The makossa musician is remembered to have impacted the Cameroon music industry through her singles like “Soleil de Décembre”, “hommage à Samuel Eto’o” and “Désillusion”.
