Commanders Conference Held at HQ IAF’s Maintenance Command, Nagpur

Air Chief has urged the staff to gear up to provide round the clock service

INDIA. Mumbai: Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari urged officers and staff to prepare to offer round-the-clock support so that the aircraft may be refurbished and brought back into service swiftly On the first day of the two-day conference, Air Chief Marshal A. K. Singh addressed the Commanders and staff of the Indian Air Force’s maintenance command in Nagpur.

He instructed airmen to cut turnaround time and address technical difficulties as soon as possible to allow for more sorties.

Air Marshal Shashiker Choudhary, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, greeted CAS upon arrival.

The maintenance command of the Indian Air Force is based in Nagpur, Maharashtra. All aeroplanes, helicopters, and other equipment are repaired, overhauled, and maintained by it. The Maintenance Command oversees the overhaul and maintenance of various types of aircraft through nine Base Repair Depots.

CAS emphasised the importance of the Maintenance Command in the maintenance of the Indian Air Force’s combat assets, contributing to its operational readiness, in his address to the Field Commanders of Depots and Units under Maintenance Command.

He expressed his gratitude to Maintenance Command for improving the serviceability of weapon systems and assuring their availability through technological advancements in the design, development, and manufacturing of aircraft components and spare parts.

He challenged air warriors to anticipate and prepare for the challenge of incorporating modern technologies into our platforms and systems while still keeping them combat-ready.

He stressed the need of coordinating our thoughts and actions in order to keep our fighting assets operationally ready at all times.

The Maintenance Command’s efforts to effectively increase our self-reliance in asset maintenance under the “Make in India” programme were hailed by the Air Chief.

He also praised the progress made toward the implementation of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” programme.

He reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and expressed his satisfaction with the efforts made by Maintenance Command toward developing in-house expertise through ingenuity and innovations.
