PORTUGAL. Porto: Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League trophy on Saturday in an exciting match at Estádio do Dragão stadium in Porto, Portugal, by a solo goal defeating Manchester City.

Team Chelsea was in a terrific form since the beginning of the match and dominated both the halves. On the other hand, Manchester City playing their first European Cup final, couldn’t defend the pressure created by Chelsea throughout the match.

At around 42 minutes into play in the first half of the match, the German midfielder Kai Havertz playing for Chelsea raced after the ball through a space created in the Manchester City defense, rounded up Ederson of Manchester City at the left edge of the box and pushed the ball into an empty net. Celebrating an early lead after the goal scored by Havertz, Chelsea’s famed Manager Thomas Tuchel successfully kept the attacking approach intact throughout the match.

Chelsea’s last success in a UEFA club competition final came when they defeated Arsenal to win the 2019 UEFA Europa League. Chelsea went into yesterday’s match having lost three of their last four matches in the league whereas, Manchester City scored 60 goals in their last 25 Champions League games. The previous year Champions League Trophy was won by FC Bayern Munich.
