INDIA. Himachal Pradesh: Actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a guest guess in Himachal Pradesh’s Mcleodganj, a suburb of Dharamshala. Basra was 53.
A forensic team has arrived on the scene to investigate into the matter whether it was death by suicide.
Born in Maharashtra’s Amravati in 1967, Asif Basra had moved to Mumbai in 1989 to pursue his acting career.
The actor had a property on lease in Mcleodganj, a popular tourist location in Himachal Pradesh. According to reports, the actor used to visit the hill station often.
“This is totally shocking to me because I have been seeing him on and off in restaurants in Dharamshala. Just a few days back, a friend of mine approached him seeking his help for a theatre show in Mcleodganj for which he seemed very interested. Last I saw him was a week or so ago. Always seen him alone, either in restaurants or strolling around the forest areas,” revealed Dharamshala-based filmmaker Abhimanyu Kukreja
Most recently he appeared in the thriller series Paatal Lok. Asif Basra has been associated with a number of Bollywood films including Black Friday, Parzania, Hichki, Kaalakaandi, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Kai Po Che, Krrish 3, Ek Villain, and Jab We Met.
