Mahommed Kallon Barred From Sierra Leone Football Top Job

The FA cited the unavailability of the minutes of the last meeting that nominated Kallon as part of reasons for the rejection.

SIERRA LEONE. Freetown: Sierra Leone Football legend Mohammed Kallon had his bid for the presidency of the country’s football Association rejected.

The former Inter Milan Forward was nominated by the Urban Districts Football League only for the country’s FA to allege that their application flouted some nominated procedures.

In a statement made available to local media, the Urban Districts Football League says the FA claims the League secretariat did not provide minutes of the last meeting.

The meeting nominated Kallon and other members vying for other positions.

“This is unfair and request investigations and review of the process,” says the League in the statement.

This is the second time Kallon has been rejected from contesting; In 2013, he was also barred from contesting for the presidency.

Who is Kallon?

The 1.79 m Forward was born in Kiseme, Sierra Leone on October 6, 1979.

He played for more than eight Italian clubs including Cagliari and Inter Milan.

He played for the Sierra Leone national team from 1995 to 2012.

Back home he started the Mohammed Kallon Children’s Foundation which helps small kids.
