Satyameva Jayate 2 Release Date Postponed Amid COVID-19 Crisis

INDIA: The pandemic had a lasting impact on the business of several Bollywood films. Directors and producers who had put their films on hold last year were hoping to release them in theatres in 2021. Unfortunately, with the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases, several filmmakers are being forced to reconsider their previously announced dates. Recently, John Abraham starrer ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ has been pushed to a later date.

The vigilante action film was supposed to release on Eid this year, along with Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. . It was set to be a big box office clash on Eid with two cult-favorite movies releasing on the same day.

In a statement, the makers of Satyameva Jayate 2 said, “In these unprecedented times, nothing matters more than the safety and health of our countrymen & patrons. Our film ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ will now release at a later date. Till then let’s keep our masks on and do our best to keep our loved ones and ourselves out of harm’s way. Jai Hind.”

‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ was supposed to release on October 2, 2020. However, due to the shutdown of theatres due to COVID-19, the film’s release date was pushed.

The film is directed by Milap Zaveri with production by T-Series. ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ is an official sequel to 2018’s ‘Satyameva Jayate’. Along with John Abraham who will be seen in a double role, the film will feature Divya Khosla Kumar, Rajeev Pillai, and Anup Soni in pivotal roles.
