NEW ZEALAND: After five and a half years in office, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced her resignation.

The New Zealand PM mentions that one of the reasons she chose to quit the job is her sheer belief that she is not capable anymore and that other leaders are far more capable than she is.

Leaders from around the globe praised Jacinda for her work and wished her luck for the future. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau thanked the New Zealand PM for her friendship.

Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, is deeply impressed by Jacinda’s bravery. He also said that “she has demonstrated that empathy and insight are powerful leadership qualities.”

Meanwhile, Ardern predicts that the Labour Party has a fair chance of winning the upcoming elections. Despite polls signifying the party’s dwindling popularity since 2020, Ardern was the most liked PM in the country, as reported by political commentator Ben Thomas.

Jacinda Ardern became Prime Minister in 2017 at the age of 37. She is the country’s youngest leader and Prime Minister. She has gotten a lot of attention for the many social, political, and economic plans she has carried out with maturity.

Especially praised for her success as a political leader in effectively ensuring the coronavirus doesn’t cross borders into the country, Jacinda gained fame for her undaunting courage in prioritizing women’s empowerment and protecting the country through natural disasters.

2022 was incredibly challenging for Ardern as she faced an increasing threat from conspiracy theorists and groups propagating anti-vaccines and COVID lockdowns, exasperated about the country’s lockdown mandates. Jacinda claims that the backlash had nothing to do with her resigning.
