UNITED STATES: The Witcher lands as a highly popular series from Netflix. The show bagged fame for accurately depicting the lead, Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill. Now, the makers have officially confirmed that Liam Hemsworth will replace Cavill as Geralt.
Netflix’s The Wicher first arrived in 2019, which was adapted from the popular video game of the same name. The action role-playing game was first released in 2007 under the banner of CD Projekt Red. The title was adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel, published in 1994.
Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill in The Witcher
The official Twitter handle of The Witcher made the announcement. The tweet read, “It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4, and Henry Cavill will be handing his swords to Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Season 3. Welcome to the Witcher family, @LiamHemsworth.”
Reacting to the news, one Twitter user added,” I’d rather wait a couple of years while he’s doing Superman or cancel the show.” Another user replied, “Well, it’s not all Superman but more because Henry Cavill wanted to stay true to the source material and the showrunners don’t. This is the most accurate reason of why…”
Recently, Henry Cavill officially announced his return as Superman. The actor posted a video of himself speaking to fans about reprising his role as Man of Steel. Many fans believe that due to Cavill’s return as the DC superhero, he is not playing the role of Geralt of Rivia. The real reason for Liam Hemsworth replacing Cavill is kept in mystery.
Liam Hemsworth is known for The Last Song (2010), The Hunger Games film franchise (2012-2015), and Independence Day: Resurgence (2016). The actor is now set to join The Witcher team as Geralt of Rivia.
Till now, Netflix has released two seasons of The Witcher. The upcoming third season will arrive in the summer of 2023. Henry Cavill will play the lead role in season 3, and in season 4, Liam Hemsworth will replace Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
