INDIA: The most cherished actor of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma, recently made it to the headlines by opposing strongly at popular sports brand Puma. Recently, the global sports brand posted a photo of Anushka on their official social media handle and used it as an advertisement.
Reacting straight to the post, Anushka Sharma condemned the action and wrote, “Hey, @pumaindia? I’m sure you know that you have to take permission before you can use my imagery for publicity since I’m not your ambassador. Please take it down.”
Anushka Sharma to team up with Puma
Puma’s roster of ambassadors includes Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Yuvraj Singh, MC Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara, and Dutee Chand. Now it seems that the brand has approached Anushka Sharma.
Post-Anushka Sharma’s reaction to their ad, the renowned brand uploaded a document which shows ‘PUMA x ANUSHKA’, written in bold letters. In reaction, Anushka reposted it to her stories and wrote, “I will sleep over it”. This gave a clear hint of Anushka giving thought to the offer made by Puma, India.
India cricketer Virat Kohli too, commented on the post. Redirecting Anushka’s Instagram Stories, he wrote, “Please sort this out, Puma India.” However, in the last hour, Anushka took to her Instagram handle and shared a video of her getting ready and talking about the proposal made by Puma.
The actor kept saying, “will I have to wear sports bras all day? it’s like being stuck in the same job as Virat. She has to be friends with the creepy Puma cat and have to make her a part of the family.” the actor further wrote, “considering @pumaindia’ s proposal, what say?”.
The successful actor is married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and leads a very private life, shedding away from the limelight. The duo have welcomed a beautiful daughter in the recent past but have restricted her visuals to the outside world.
Being the bold, dynamic and independent lady, Anushka often slammed many publication houses for posting their couple photos without their consent. But, now it seems that she gave a clear hint of already coming to terms with the global brand, and it’s a part of the advertisement.
