INDIA: Naruto fans, gear up for your favourite anime’s season 2! Finally, after a long wait, Sony YAY! has announced the release date of the highly anticipated second installment of the Shinobi saga.

The news skyrocketed among the Indian Otakus, with the channel featuring the promotional video of the upcoming anime.

Naruto Season 2 arrives this month

Naruto re-entered the Indian television world on August 15, 2022. Season 1 was aired in 5 regional languages, which included Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bengali, at 8 pm.

The first installment ended on the gripping point of our Unpredictable Ninja’s journey.

Following the conclusion of Season 1, Sony YAY! also started to re-telecast the anime. For a long time, the channel has shared no updates regarding the arrival of the second installment.

Now, the anime is all set to hit TV screens on December 12, 2022. The series will be aired at 9 pm IST.

Besides Sony YAY! Netflix has also embarked on the race to stream Naruto. Currently, the streaming giant has access to all nine seasons. However, the anime is available in Japanese audio with English subtitles.

The platform also added Naruto Shippuden to its watch list on August 8. The new season will arrive on December 12, 2022.

Huge announcement on December 17 

In addition to the airing of season 2 in India, another huge announcement awaits for global fans. On October 27, 2022, the makers of the anime shared a cryptic post on Twitter. The official handle of the anime wrote, “2022.12.17 START #NARUTO.”

The makers also shared a poster that featured all the characters from the anime in the background. The entire image of the whole anime is painted in black and white. Following the arrival of the cryptic post, fans flooded the internet with numerous speculations. 

Out of all the speculations, a major rumor started to circulate that the anime will be re-aired in a remastered format.

This theory holds heavyweights as Studio Pierrot shared a “Road of Naruto” video marking the 20th anniversary of the anime. The video featured iconic scenes from the series with modern animations and high color grading.  

The makers have yet to reveal what big announcement will be unveiled this month. All the mystery regarding the cryptic post will unfold on December 17, 2022.
