Tulsi Gabbard Breaks away from Democratic Party over “Cowardly Wokeness”

Tulsi Gabbard has always been a harsh critic of Joe Biden's administration

UNITED STATES: A Democratic former representative and ex-presidential candidate, Tulsi Gabbard, announced her separation from the party, describing it as an “elitist cabal of warmongers”, and invited her “common sense independent-minded” colleagues to join her in resistance.

In a video address posted on Twitter on Tuesday, she boldly admitted that the Democratic Party is driven by “cowardly wokeness”.

I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism,” Gabbard said.

She also added that the liberal party works to “demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans”.

Gabbard’s decision to break away from the party comes at a crucial time when the polarising effect between the Republicans and Democrats is deepening further ahead of the midterm elections – a critical race set for November 8 that will determine whether Reds or Blues will have control of Congress. The results will also impact the second half of President Biden’s term in office.

Gabbard represented Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District from 2013 to 2021. In 2020, the Iraq War veteran made an unsuccessful bid for the White House.

Gabbard has been a harsh critic of Joe Biden’s administration and often slammed the president’s handling of the Ukraine crisis. Over the weekend, she also said that the current administration “does not care about the American people”.

Permanent Washington loots us to serve the interests of the arms-manufacturing global oligarchy while we struggle to pay for gas/food/rent and our soldiers go on food stamps,” she said in a tweet.

In February, she made an unusual move for a Democrat and spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), a gathering of the nation’s most conservative officials and political activists.

A military veteran who served in the Iraq war before she entered Congress and eventually the election campaign trail, she became strongly anti-war, frequently dragging the U.S. through the mud for its unnecessary involvement in foreign conflicts. Despite being a staunch Democrat, she criticized former POTUS Barack Obama for his lack of strict action against radical Islam.
