Vande Bharat Train to Commence from Mumbai to Goa, Time-saving Journey to Start by June 

The trains will be equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features to avoid the risk of collision

INDIA: The semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Train which will run from Mumbai to Goa is set to reduce the travel timing by at least 45 minutes compared to the Tejas Express. The train will run between CSMT and Madgaon.

This is the fourth Vande Bharat to be operated from the financial capital. The trains will be equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features with a train collision avoidance system.

As per the officials, “Our tentative plan is to travel from CSMT around 6 a.m. so that it can arrive in Madgaon in the afternoon, from where it will begin its return journey to CSMT, where it is estimated to arrive around midnight.”

The newly launched Vande Bharat Express will minimize the travel time, whereas Tejas Express takes almost 8 hours 40 minutes to cover the 765 km distance.

The stations to be included on this Mumbai to Goa route tentatively are Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road and Madgaon.

Talking about the features of the ultra-comfortable train, it has 16 AC coaches, out of which two are executive class coaches. The seating capacity is offered for 1,128 passengers.

It has eight motor coaches and a better braking system that enables smooth acceleration and deceleration. Moreover, the Executive Coaches have 180-degree rotating seats. It even provides USB charging slots on every seat, which makes the journey even more convenient. 

Besides this, the Vande Bharat train is also likely to be launched between Puri and Howrah, Guwahati in Assam and New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, and another one in Patna and Ranchi. The railways have aimed to run at least 75 Vande Bharat trains by August 2023.
