13,388 People Register For Health Care Fund In Niger State

NIGERIA. Niger: Over 13,388 people have been enrolled under the Basic Health Care Provision Funds (BHCPF).

The National Health Insurance Scheme ((NHIS) Zonal Coordinator for North Central, Mr Adelaja Abereoran stated this during the Stakeholders Sensitization and interactive Forum in Minna.

He said that the basic healthcare provision funds will ensure that the health of the vulnerable and those in the non-formal sector.

The Coordinator said the ongoing reforms in NHIS was for better service delivery which he said include the system and structure reform by bringing it under one umbrella.

He noted that the scheme is currently an e- NHIS to ensure monitoring of all activities especially in the remote areas in which the state has keyed into already.

Abereoran urged enrollees to insist on quality health service centres and report any service provider that defaults in the delivery of services to them

He stated that the government will put in place enforcement department that will ensure that in place will ensure the HMOs and Health Care facilities do their work effectively.

Niger state

The NHIS Coordinator in Niger State, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu warned service providers to face sanction or revocation if they do not meet the yearning and expectations of the scheme.

He called on the beneficiaries to know their rights and report to the scheme if they are treated badly.

Adamu reiterated the commitment of NHIS in achieving the Universal Health Coverage.
