15 Civilians Injured In Minibus Explosion In Kabul

No group including the Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the attack

AFGHANISTAN. Kabul: For the past twenty-four hours, the Afghan capital has seen three magnetic bomb explosions in different parts of its city. 15 civilians were wounded in the newest explosions that targeted a bus in the downtown Dahan-e-Bagh area in Kabul this afternoon, Kabul police said.

No group including the Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, Firdous Faramarz, Kabul police spokesman confirmed that the magnetic bomb targeted the local vehicle, saying all the casualties are civilians and transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Nasrullah Nasrat Naseri, spokesman for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, said that the targeted bus was carrying the employees of the Post Office and Afghan Telecom company, adding that four of their staff were wounded and transported to the hospital.

In two similar explosions on Sunday evening, five people were killed, and 16 more people were wounded, in less than one hour of each other in PD3 and PD6 of Kabul city, the police said

According to the security, both explosions targeted vehicles, and “All the victims were civilians.” No group has yet taken credit for all the three recent magnetic blasts that mostly targeted civilians.

Afghanistan is experiencing a nationwide spike in bombings, targeted killings and other violence as peace negotiations in Qatar between the Taliban and the Afghan government continue.

The Islamic State group’s local affiliate has claimed responsibility for some of the violence, but many go unclaimed, with the government putting the blame on the Taliban. The insurgents have denied responsibility for most of the attacks.
