Tollywood Superstar Nagarjuna Turns 63

INDIA: Nagarjuna turns 63 today, ruling over 35 years in the entertainment industry. Age is just a number for the Tollywood ‘King’, as his infectious smile and onscreen presence could give young actors a tougher competition.

In the Telugu film industry, Nagarjuna is considered to be Benjamin Button, the character who reverses in age from the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.’

The multi-talented actor is a two-time National Film Awards winner, ninth-time Nandi Awards winner and three times winners of the Filmfare Awards South. Nagarjuna proudly represented the Cinema of South India at the Delhi Film Festival’s 100 Years of Indian Cinema celebration. 

The star gained much popularity with his works in biographical films like Annamacharya in Annamayya (1997), Yavakri (the son of the ascetic Bharadvaja) in AgniVarsha (2002), Major Padmapani Acharya in the war film LOC: Kargil (2003).

He debuted as a child artist in the movie ‘Velugu Needalu’, written by Sri. He has completed 100 movies in his acting career, some of the most prominent films are Siva, Geetanjali, Ninne Pelladata,  Annamayya, Shirdi Sai, Sivamani, Manmadhudu and many more.

On the occasion of his birthday, many Tollywood actors wished the gem of an actor good health, long life and prosperity. One amongst them is his closest family friend Megastar Chiranjeevi, he took to his Twitter and tweeted, “Happy Birthday My dear friend @iamnagarjuna Wish you good health, happiness and success always!”.

On the other hand, Superstar Mahesh Babu wrote“Happy birthday @iamnagarjuna!! Wishing you happiness and abundance always!” On a micro-blogging site, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja wrote, “Happy birthday, @iamnagarjuna sir, Let your swag and style remain forever king-size. Wishing you good health and happiness always.”

Dulquer Salmaan, pouring all his emotions into words, “Wishing the wonderful and stylish King @iamnagarjuna Garu, our dearest Nag sir, a very happy birthday !! Lots and lots of love.”

The Tollywood sensation will be making his Bollywood comeback with Ayan Mukherji’s directorial mega movie, Brahmastra. Meanwhile, his Tollywood release alongside Sonal Chauhan in the upcoming ‘The Ghost’ is much awaited.
