INDIA: The first instalment of Mani Ratnam’s historical drama Ponniyin Selvan is soon to be released. The makers unveil the magnificent poster of Trisha Krishnan as Princess Kundavai. Previously, the film’s creator released additional visuals of Vikram as Aditya Karikalan and Karthi as Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan. On Wednesday, Lyca Productions released the poster of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Queen Nandini.

Trisha’s magnificent aura proliferates in the newly released poster

Following the poster release of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lyca Productions released the new poster of Trisha Krishnan on their Twitter handle. The tweet read, “In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai! #PS1 is releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada! @MadrasTalkies #ManiRatnam @arrahman.”

On the film’s announcement few character posters, which also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Trisha, were previously released. The ensemble cast poster’s appearance ensures excitement among the fans. The film stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, and Prathiban.

Recently, Lyca Productions posted a sneak peek at the motion poster on their Twitter account. The poster’s heading read: “Look out! Brace yourself. Get ready for an adventure. The Cholas are coming! #PS1.”

Mani Ratnam’s tented magnum opus focuses on the great Chola empire

 The film Ponniyin Selvan is an adaptation of the 1950 Tamil novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film will be released worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Ponniyin Selvan: I is one of the most expensive Indian films, with a budget of 500 crores. Produced under the banner of Lyca Productions and Madaras Talkies, the film is gearing up for its release in two instalments on September 30, 2022. With Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan, director Mani Ratnam penned the script for his tented magnum opus.
