INDIA: Om Raut’s directorial Adipurush, which is based on Ramayana, is about to hit theatres on June 16, 2023. Meanwhile, the director said his upcoming film belongs to the audience and the Gods. The trailer was launched yesterday, promising goosebumps in every scene.
Raut, during the final trailer launch, made a special request to the producers and distributors of the film. He urged the makers to keep one seat reserved for every show of the film for Lord Hanuman, wherever it is playing across the world.
The filmmaker, while addressing the media, burst into tears as he got overwhelmed by emotions. Raut said that his mother says that every time Ramayana is staged, Hanuman ji comes to watch it. So the director asked Bhushan Kumar (producer) and Anil Thadani (distributor) to keep one seat vacant in every Adipurush show for Hanuman ji.
“Everywhere in the world, wherever there is an Adipurush show, I request the producer and distributor to keep one seat for Hanuman ji; he will come to see Ramayan,” he said.
Prabhas, who is essaying the character of Lord Rama as Raghava, gave Raut a side hug and kept his arm around his shoulders to bring him ease.
Further, Raut praised Prabhas and said that the film would not have been possible without him. He went on to say that if there is anything that makes Adipurush what it is, it is Prabahs.
“I just want to tell everyone that this is not our film. This is your film; this is everybody’s film. Adipurush is a film of India,” he added.
Besides Prabhas as Raghava (Lord Ram), the movie features Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Mata Sita), Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravana). The highly anticipated film is made with a reported budget of 500 crore, bankrolled by T-Series and Retrophiles.
