Cannes 2023: Shruti Haasan is Guest of Honour at Round Table Conference on Gender Parity

INDIA: The most unaddressed topic in today’s world is ‘Gender Parity’, and every person is entitled to get an equal work environment and opportunities in their workspace. Now, the popular Cannes Film Festival raised the concerned topic and actress Shruti Haasan is a part of the discussion.

The actress is invited as the guest of honour for their round table conference on gender parity. The title of the discussion is titled ‘Activating Change’, hosted by ‘Breaking through the lens’. The discussion will bring forth the opportunities for women in the entertainment industry.

The Activating Change will bring out the objective of providing realistic solutions for underserved filmmakers with a multicultural, intersectional, and results-driven approach.

The beautiful actress is awaiting the big release of her international project ‘The Eye’. She will star in lead opposite Mark Rowley known for The Last Kingdom. Daphne Schmon is set to direct the psychological thriller. The actress will be essaying the role of a widow visiting a Greek island to spread her deceased husband’s ashes.

Argonatus Productions has bankrolled the project along with Fingerprint Content. Besides Haasan, the film will also star Anna Savva, Linda Marlow, and many more.

The actress is bold and outspoken about her opinions on women’s rights and gender equality. Besides this, the first look at Shruti’s upcoming historical drama, Sanghamitra, was unveiled at the event.

The versatile actress has many projects kept in her film lineup. She is set to feature in KGF fame Prashanth Neel’s action-packed film, Salaar.

In Salaar, Shruti will appear opposite Prabhas. The film is directed by KGF director Prashanth Neel. Moreover, talking about Cannes, this is perhaps not the first time for Haasan, as she previously made her way to the red carpet of the film festival back in 2017.
