SPAIN: Life often takes unexpected turns, and for Dr. Fernando Soria, a highly experienced dentist, the path to his profession was anything but planned. Initially set on studying economics, an unfortunate rugby injury at the age of 17 became the catalyst for a career shift that would define his future.
While recovering from torn cruciate ligaments, a chance visit to a dentist’s office with a friend, Federico Bumbuna Nieva, introduced Soria to a field he had never considered. The meticulous work of the dentist, who happened to be the mother of another rugby teammate, Ernesto Campisi, captivated him. That moment sparked a curiosity that soon evolved into a calling.

Determined and passionate, Soria swiftly pursued a degree in Dentistry, completing it in record time. He attributes his success to four essential pillars: knowledge, skill, experience—honed through continuous postgraduate studies—and attitude, which shapes his approach to daily challenges.
A Relentless Pursuit of Excellence
Soria’s ambition took him beyond his home country as he sought to refine his skills and broaden his professional horizons. Madrid, Spain, became his new home, where he enrolled in the prestigious Specialty of Implant Prosthodontics at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2000. Today, with 28 years of experience, he has established himself as a leading figure in Spanish dentistry, yet his drive for growth remains unwavering. Looking ahead, he envisions further opportunities in cities such as Riyadh, Dubai, and Zurich.
While professional success has been fulfilling, Soria acknowledges the sacrifices involved. Leaving behind family, friends, and familiar surroundings was not easy, but his strong foundation—built upon the values instilled by his parents and country—helped him persevere. Now, at 50, he finds happiness in Madrid with his wife, Silvia Bacigaluppi, and their three children, Joaquín, Lorenzo, and Emilia.
