INDIA: Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel starrer Gadar: Ek Prem Katha emerged as a classic actioner movie since its release. The film was a box office smash that captivated all of India and shattered all records. Now, the Bollywood film is making a comeback after 20 years with its sequel.

The sequel of the action thriller is about to release this year in 2023. Meanwhile, the first look from the highly anticipated movie is out for watching, and the Sunny Deol look from Gadar 2 took the limelight.

Gadar 2 first look showcases Sunny Deol lifting the cartwheel

Zee Studios revealed a short teaser featuring its upcoming lineup for this year, including Gadar 2. Sunny Deol is seen donning a black outfit along with a black turban complimenting a heavy black beard, reflecting an intense look.

In the latest poster, the doting actor is seen furiously holding a cartwheel in his hands, leaving behind all audience nostalgia. The movie is directed by Anil Sharma, who promised to keep the magic alive in the second instalment.

The 2001 movie left a benchmark in the field of the action genre. The iconic hand pump extracting scene was the stealer of the last movie, and now the same enthusiasm is portrayed with a cartwheel. 

In the first part of Gadar, Sunny Deol essayed the role of a Sikh Truck driver named Tara Singh opposite Ameesha Patel, aka Sakina, who was featured as a Muslim girl. The movie showcased the angle of inter-religion marriage that occurred during the India-Pakistan partition.

The movie also featured Utkarsh Sharma as their son Jeete, who will continue to play the same role in the upcoming sequel. The film has already finished shooting last year in December 2022. Reportedly, the film is shot in different locations in Himachal Pradesh, Indore and Lucknow. 

Anil Sharma, film’s director talking about the mega project, stated, “Tara Singh (Sunny), Sakina (Amisha), Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) and I have worked with the same cast and characters before.”

“The plot has also advanced 22 years. It’s a natural process for everyone because my son (Utkarsh) has developed from a child to a young person. It will be a fresh film for a new audience and a sequel for longtime viewers,” he concluded.
