Gallant Gallery Inaugurated at Army Public School in Mumbai

INDIA. Mumbai: Gallant Gallery to honour 75 brave hearts of Indian armed forces was inaugurated at Army Public School located in South Mumbai by Lt Gen HS Kahlon, General Officer Commanding Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat area on Saturday.

The Gallant Gallery has been instituted in the school as a tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the war heroes of the Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of 75 years of Independence of our great nation. The Gallant Gallery portrays the acts of bravery of 75 Bravehearts of the Indian Armed Forces, including 21 Param Veer Chakra (PVC) and 54 Mahavir Chakra (MVC) awardees of the Indian Armed Forces. It carries many memorable photos of the gallantry of army men.

Speaking on occasion, Lt Gen HS Kahlon expressed his belief that students and readers will be motivated to imbibe their sterling qualities and carry forward the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice set by them. “The Gallant Gallery is a symbol of gratitude to these men who made the supreme sacrifice to achieve independence,” he added.

As a part of “Vidyanjali”, an initiative of the Govt of India, a donation drive for handing over furniture to underprivileged schools was also carried out in association with Rotary Club, Mumbai. On occasion, President Regional AWWA, Harkiran Kahlon, handed over the furniture to the school management of Hutatma Bhagat Singh Vidya Mandir and Balak Mandir, Satara.

Army Public School, Mumbai, was established in 1984 under the aegis of AWES (Army Welfare Education Society, New Delhi), primarily to impart quality education to the children of Defence Personnel at an affordable cost. By encouraging the students to dream, learn and explore, the school aims to create a vibrant community where they learn to translate their dreams into reality mostly through self-exploration and making the most of the available options.
