INDIA: Hanu-Man is the upcoming Telugu venture on the superhero genre written and directed by Prasanth Varma. The film was unveiled almost a year ago, and since then, it has piqued the interest of Indian superhero enthusiasts.
The superhero film, Hanu-Man, will star Teja Sajja in the lead along with Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai, which encompasses the fictional universe of Anjanadri. Till now, the announcement clip plus the posters showcasing Hanumanthu (Teja Sajja), Meenakshi (Amritha Aiyer), Anjamma (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar), and Michael (Vinay Rai) can be considered as the only addition to the lore and legends of Prasanth’s Cinematic Universe.
Prasanth unveils an update regarding the trailer release
Earlier, Prasanth hinted at the impending teaser on Twitter. The tweet read,” #HanuManTeaser cut done!” Working on VFX! Will announce the release date soon!!” but since then, no update regarding the teaser release has been unveiled by the makers till now.
Prasanth recently provided an update on the teaser release. The accomplished filmmaker tweeted, “#HanuManTeaser Update: The VFX is taking a lot more time than I anticipated! Please bear with me. I promise the wait will be worth it!”
The tweet gives the impression that the makers will create something incredible, which raises the anticipation level for Hanu-Man.

Prasanth Varma is a visionary director who redefined the Telugu cinema culture with his groundbreaking concepts. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with the short film Deenamma Jeevitham. Prasanth rose to prominence in the feature film industry after directing the psychological thriller Awe! in 2018. His magnum opus, starring Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and Regina Cassandra, transformed his career by addressing societal concerns, including child abuse, sexual assault, and drug misuse.
Considering a total box office collection of 25 crores on a budget of 5 crores, Prasanth’s take on the psychological genre was praised by critics and the wider populace.
Following the release of Awe!, Prasanth has pursued in the footsteps of creative directors with films such as Kalki (2019) and Zombie Reddy (2021). In addition to his amazing concepts, he also worked as a writer for Malik Ram’s directorial Adbhutham (2021). Zombie Reddy was a box office smash hit among his film endeavours during the pandemic.
The Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe encompasses Hanu-Man and Adhira
On May 29, 2021, Prasanth announced his first pan-Indian superhero film, Hanu-Man, and a year later, he announced Adhira, with Kalyan Dasari’s debut. Hanu-Man and Adhira are destined to be part of his superhero cinematic universe, now termed the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe.
