SPAIN: Madrid became the center of global recognition and meaningful dialogue as it hosted the 7th World Summit on Universal Values on 27 and 28 February at the historic Real Casino de Madrid. Organized by the international organization Les Valeurs du Monde Unis, the event brought together representatives from over 30 royal houses and celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing universal values such as dignity, human rights, and solidarity.
This year’s honorees included José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the Mayor of Madrid, who was awarded the Courage of Honour and Vocation for Public Service in recognition of his dedicated efforts to improving the city’s governance. Luis de la Fuente, the national football coach, received the award for Promoting Talent and Sporting Development, while Atlético de Madrid President Enrique Cerezo was celebrated for his Commitment to Sport and Culture.

7th World Summit Recognizing Humanitarian Contributions
The summit also paid tribute to influential figures like former Uruguayan President José Mujica and philanthropist and environmentalist Lady Oxana Girko, who have devoted their lives to global humanitarian efforts.
One of the most emotional moments of the event was the posthumous Honorary Tribute to Women’s Values, awarded to Josefina Vicario, the founder of the Vicario Clinics. Known for her pioneering work in healthcare and her exceptional leadership in the business world, Vicario’s legacy was honored for her strength and transformative impact.

The Summit also featured a vibrant cultural exchange, with performances including flamenco, traditional Arabic dance, and Bollywood, choreographed and directed by Sharqi Academy – Academia de Danza Oriental Sahra Ardah. The event also included a fashion show by the renowned Mon Air and Madame Sibarita brands, showcasing the richness and diversity of global cultures and reinforcing the summit’s message of pluralism and solidarity.
As the Summit came to a close, attendees reflected on the importance of leading with values in today’s political, religious, and societal spheres, leaving a lasting impression and highlighting the shared commitment to universal principles.
