Miss India 2023: Rajasthan’s Nandini Gupta Carves Her Way to the Winning Position

INDIA: The 59th edition of the beauty pageant, Miss India 2023 title, was won by 19-year-old Nandini Gupta from Kota, Rajasthan. Shreya Poonja from Delhi bagged the title of first runner-up, and Thounaojam Strela Luwang from Mnaipur gained the position of second runner-up.

The grand event was held at the Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal, Manipur. The beauty event witnessed Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday performing. Besides this, the event was hosted by Bhumi Pednekar and Maniesh Paul.

The stunning diva, who most recently wore the esteemed crown, is an aspiring student who attended St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School. She has a degree in business management and is currently enrolled at Lala Lajpat Rai College.

The event featured the beautiful and intelligent winners from 30 states, who were judged based on numerous aspects, challenging their intellectual ability, confidence and profoundness.

Distinguished designers Rocky Star and Namrata Joshipura joined the exclusive jury panel. It also included Femina Miss India Universe 2002 and Mentor Neha Dhupia, boxing legend Laishram Sarita Devi, film director and writer Harshavardhan Kulkarni, and ace choreographer Terence Lewis. 

Nandini, in her recent interview with the media, said, “Ratan Tata, the man who does everything for humanity and devotes the majority of his wealth to charity, is the most influential person in my life. Loved by millions and always grounded.”

Additionally, she followed the footsteps of Priyanka Chopra, who inspired her to embark on the Miss India pageant journey. The diva dreamt of being Miss India since she was 10. 

She said, “Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra, who won the national crown at a young age, also represented India at the national and international levels. She gave back to society while also excelling as an actor. She motivates others, has a fantastic sense of humour, and is eager to learn more as she grows.”

Moreover, the official Miss India Instagram page posted a picture of the new Miss India freezing the moment with the caption, “WORLD – here she comes! Nandini Gupra has conquered our stage and taken over our hearts with her magnetism, charm, endurance and beauty!

We’re so proud and can’t wait to see her on the Miss World stage! We’re so proud of your journey and all the hard work you’ve undertaken to earn the crown to your full credit. May you shine always! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome your new reigning queen, Nandini Gupta, Femina Miss India World 2023,” it read.
