NIGERIA. Abuja: The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has promoted 3,466 general duty and support staff officers. This was revealed at the board’s 54th regular meeting in Abuja on March 29.
The meeting, which was chaired by Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning Zainab Ahmed, who also served as Chairman of the NCS Board, emphasized the importance of work ethics, discipline, and openness in the public sector.
According to Timi Bomodi, the board’s Deputy Comptroller, Ahmed praised the NCS management for their efforts and for a job well done, particularly in terms of new innovations in trade facilitation and income generation for the year 2021.
Ahmed, on the other hand, encouraged the newly promoted officers to be dedicated by accomplishing more in the previous years and throughout their service year to attain more service goals.
Promoted officers
SA Bomoi, AA Anthony, BO Olumo, CK Niagwan, MM Tilleygyado, MC Ugbagu, CD Wada, A Bako, AM Adegbite, KI Adesola (Mrs), NP Umoh, OO Orbih, and RC Nwankwo are among those who have been promoted.
Along with this, people holding the following positions have also been promoted:
Deputy Comptroller to Comptroller of Customs (GD) – (31), Deputy Comptroller to Comptroller of Customs (SS) – (3).
Assistant Comptroller of Customs to Deputy Comptroller of Customs (GD) – (84), Assistant Comptroller of Customs to Deputy Comptroller of Customs (SS) – (1), Chief Superintendent of Customs to Assistant Comptroller of Customs (GD) – (212).
