INDIA: London-based consumer electronics brand, Nothing, has made an exciting announcement regarding its highly anticipated smartphone, Phone (2). The company revealed that it would be manufacturing the Phone (2) in India, a strategic move aimed at meeting the demands of the Indian market while harnessing the country’s flourishing capabilities in smartphone production.

Renowned for their iconic transparent design, Nothing smartphones require advanced manufacturing processes and precision engineering. By choosing India as the manufacturing hub for the Phone (2), the company aims to fulfill the needs of Indian consumers while capitalizing on the nation’s expanding expertise in the production of smartphones.

Manu Sharma, Vice President and General Manager at Nothing India, expressed the company’s commitment to local consumers and their demands through the decision to manufacture the Phone (2) in India. This move underscores Nothing’s dedication to the Indian market and its goal of providing a tailored smartphone experience to Indian users.

In addition to addressing consumer demands, Nothing is also prioritizing sustainability efforts with the Phone (2). The company has unveiled that the device will boast an SGS_SA-certified carbon footprint of 53.45 kg, which is over 5 kg lower than its predecessor, Phone (1).

This achievement is especially impressive in light of the Phone (2)’s overall performance upgrades, which include a 200 mAh battery capacity increase and a 0.15-inch bigger screen.

Carl Pei, the Founder of Nothing, recently shared some exciting details about the Phone (2). Pei confirmed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Series chipset, signifying a significant upgrade from the Phone (1).

Furthermore, he mentioned in a tweet that initial tests have shown the Phone (2) to offer twice the app opening speed compared to its predecessor, with an impressive 80 percent overall performance improvement.

With the imminent arrival of the Phone (2) in the market, consumers can anticipate an enhanced smartphone experience that seamlessly combines Nothing’s signature transparent design with improved performance. 

Moreover, the reduced carbon footprint of the Phone (2) showcases Nothing’s commitment to sustainability, marking a significant stride forward for the company in the Indian smartphone manufacturing industry.
