INDIA: The much-awaited film OMG 2 is set to hit big screens. Meanwhile, the makers unveiled their first song, titled ‘Oonchi Oonchi Waadi’, serving as a devotional element to Lord Shiva.
The song is composed and sung by Hansraj Raghuwanshi. Whereas Hansraj, Djstrings, along with Kabeer Shukla penned the soothing lyrics.
The new OMG 2 song opens with Pankaj Tripathi at a Shiv Mandir. The character of Tripathi is completely opposite that of Kanji Mehta (Paresh Rawal), who was an atheist. Now, in this sequel, we will see the power of devotion as Pankaj, a follower of Lord Shiva, prays in a serene temple setting. He shows his devotion by singing bhajans and cleaning the temple halls.
However, the breakthrough moment comes when Pankaj’s son faces problems adjusting to a new school. He is also depicted in a scene standing on a train track, indicating a suicide attempt. Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, arrives to rescue them and provides them with the willpower they need to get through this trying time in their life.
In the last tweet, Akshay Kumar sought blessings for OMG 2’s success. “Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey,” he wrote.
OMG 2 will hit the silver screen on August 11, 2023. The movie will have a tough clash with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which will also release on the same day. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was also set to release on the same day but postponed to December.
OMG 2 serves as a spiritual sequel to OMG (2012), which featured Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. In the second film, Akshay returns and teams up with Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi.
