Popular Comedian And Actor Raju Srivastava Is Recovering

The Actor will Remain in the Hospital at least for 10 days

INDIA. Mumbai: Popular Comedian and Actor Raju Srivastava admitted to Delhi’s AIIMS hospital is recovering and will continue to be in hospital for a few more days, official sources said on Wednesday.

He continues to be on ventilator support in ICU but he is also running a fever indicating his body movements are returning to normalcy, however, he will some more time to regain consciousness, Srivastav’s Manager Nayan Soni told the Transcontinental Times. Nobody is allowed to meet him to avoid infection, he added.

Srivastava (59) was admitted to the hospital on August 10 after experiencing chest pain while working out at the gym. He underwent an angioplasty later. Subsequently, an MRI was carried out which showed that a nerve in his head was pinched and the compression of the vein was taking a long time in his recovery.

Several Bollywood actors including Amitabh Bachchan have sent an audio message to bring Srivastava to his senses. The singer Kailash Kher, has also sent an audio message. The doctors are using these messages to make him regain consciousness.

Srivastava was staying in Delhi since August 1. After suffering a heart attack and being admitted to hospital, his family members- wife-Shikha, Daughter- Antara, and son-Ayushman reached the national capital. Several of his fans from Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) have also reached New Delhi. But no one is allowed to meet the actor.

Born on December 25, 1963, in Kanpur, Srivastava has been conducting comedy shows across the country for a long time. Also, popular as Gajodhar, he has acted in many films, such as Bombay to Goa, Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, and Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya.

Besides the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, he had been a part of several comedy shows such as Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show. He was a special guest on India’s Laughter Champion. His shows based on July 26, 2005, Mumbai deluge had become very popular.

In 2013, he participated in “Nach Baliye season VI” along with his wife. The couples dance show was telecast on “StarPlus”. He also appeared in a show called the “Indian Mazak League”.

He was fielded by the Samajwadi Party from the Kanpur Lok Sabha constituency in the 2014 elections. However, he returned the ticket on the ground that he was not getting support from the local units of the SP. Subsequently, he joined the BJP.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated him to be part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.Srivastava is also the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.
