INDIA: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, criticised the BJP administration for warning opposition leaders that they are not afraid of phone tapping and are being targeted by “state-sponsored attackers” attempting to remotely compromise their iPhones, stating that traditional forms of political communication are still more potent.

Gandhi further asserted that the Adani Group controls the “soul” of the Modi administration. Reiterating his claims that “the PM works for Adani,” he asserted that Adani is superior to both Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He told a story of how a king’s power was kept by a caged parrot and remarked, “For a long time, all Opposition parties were attacking the king. But the reality is power lies in the hands of Adani. Whenever we touch Adani—intelligence agencies. snooping, CBI will come.”

Gandhi stataed that here are some examples. Someone else owned Mumbai Airport. Gandhi said that state-sponsored organisations target the owner. He hands up the airport to Adani, the Congress leader said.

He added that no CBI or ED investigation has been conducted on coal overcharging. The Congress leader added that the Indian people pay Adani tax for power use or trailing. The youth of India are becoming increasingly divided and discontented as Adani continues to steal wealth, he stated.

The Congress politician added these people believe they can manage technology and thus the angst of India’s youth. However, bear in mind that conventional methods of political communication remain more effective, he added, referencing his Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Gandhi made it clear that he was not against the Adani Group personally, but he did say that he was against the establishment of “monopolies such as the Adani Group.”

Gandhi plans to change the Adani administration and advocate for India as a concept, stating that it is more than just an electoral campaign.

Journalists and leaders of the Opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) reported receiving emails from Apple alerting them to potential state-sponsored attackers remotely compromising iPhones linked to their identification documents.

Apple denied linking state-sponsored adversaries to threat alerts. “State-sponsored attackers are very well-funded and sophisticated, and their attacks evolve over time. Detecting such attacks relies on threat intelligence signals that are often imperfect and incomplete,” Apple added.

The opposition’s accusations of government hacking attempts were denied by Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

“There are many compulsive critics in our country. Their one and only job is to criticise the government as and when they wake up, as and when they find an opportunity. You must have all seen the advisory issued by Apple. This is a vague advisory. It is based on certain estimations that they have done. Apple has already clarified that their encryption system is of highest possible order. They have also clarified and issued a statement saying that this kind of advisory has been issued in 150 countries,” he said.
