INDIA: Tamil megastar Rajnikanth’s new look as Moideen Bhai in the upcoming film Lal Salaam is finally out. The movie marks Rajnikanth’s daughter Aishwarya’s comeback as a director after half a decade.
The first poster of the film showcased Thalaivar donning a red skull cap paired with a warm-tone sherwani. The actor wore matching shoes and looked dapper in black sunglasses. Reportedly, the Robot actor will have a cameo role in Lal Salaam.
Aishwarya dropped the first-look poster of father Rajinikanth in the unrecognisable makeover. She tweeted, “Honoured and blessed appa! the entire team of #LalSalaam always needs your blessings.”
Besides this, Lyca Productions uploaded the poster and wrote, “Everyone’s favourite BHAI is back in Mumbai. Make way for #Thalaivar. SuperStar ‘ #Rajinikanth as #MoideenBhai in #LalSalaam.” The poster was released in Hindi and Tamil languages.
Social media is divided into two halves amid Rajinikanth’s look unveiled. One user wrote, “What is this? What have you done to Thalaivar, take it down, very bad, photoshop it.”
“Please do a good photoshoot with Superstar and ask the designer to do gr8 posters .. please make him wear a wig otherwise it might be a letdown,” wrote another fan. Whereas some wrote, “Can’t wait for this. Looks interesting.”
The main leads of the movie will be Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal, and if rumours are to be believed, the film is set against the backdrop of communism and cricket.
Apart from this, the music in the movie will be composed by AR Rahman, and the Cinematography will be done by Vishnu Rangasamy and editor Pravin Baaskar. Furthermore, details are kept under wraps.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth will be next seen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial Jailer, which features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for a big-scale release on August 11, 2023.
