Relaxation Of COVID-19 Rules For Shops, Malls And Restaurants In Nagpur

INDIA: The Nagpur civic body has allowed shops, malls, and restaurants to operate till 8 pm every day. The new rule will come into effect from Monday. The decision came as a major boost for trading activity ahead of festival season. Maharashtra’s Cabinet Minister Nitin Raut previously indicated the issuance of the order on Sunday.

As per a previous order, the shops and other establishments in Nagpur were allowed to operate till 8 pm on weekdays and till 3 pm on weekends.

Restaurants in Maharashtra are now allowed to remain open with 50 percent capacity for dining till 10 pm on all days.

“Restaurants are allowed to remain open with 50 percent capacity for dining till 10 pm on all days,” Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B said in an order issued on Sunday.

However, cinema halls, multiplexes, religious places, and swimming pools in Nagpur will remain closed. Along with this, social, cultural, political gatherings and marriage functions are allowed with 50 percent capacity of the venue. till 8 pm on all days. Funerals are restricted to a maximum of 20 people at a time.

Beauty parlors, wellness centers, and salons are allowed to open till 8 pm on all days. Coaching classes and competitive exam training are allowed till 8 pm on all days with 50 percent capacity.

Meanwhile, inter-district travel, either by private cars, taxis or buses has been regularised. If a traveler is going to a ‘level-5’ area, then an e-pass will be required as per the state government’s classification based on COVID-19 positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy.
