INDIA: Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Shaakuntalam has sparked a lot of interest among fans since the first look was released. Given the unveiling of the first look, fans were eagerly awaiting the release date and trailer. Now, the wait is over; the makers have revealed the upcoming film’s release date.

Samantha’s film is set to debut in theatres on November 4, 2022. The movie is also scheduled to release globally with the Indian release.

Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha, bagged a release date with a musical motion poster

The creators of Shaakuntalam hyped the fans on Thursday by releasing a poster with the words “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT” on it. However, the lack of clarity from the production houses regarding the new update added to the excitement surrounding the movie. 

Sri Venkateswara Creations announced the release date of the film on Twitter. The tweet read, “Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in Theatres from Nov 4th 2022 Worldwide! #ShaakuntalamOnNov4 @Gunasekhar1 @Samanthaprabhu2 @ActorDevMohan #ManiSharma @neelima_guna @GunaaTeamworks @SVC_official @neeta_lulla @tipsofficial #MythologyforMilennials.’’

The motion poster opened with a musical ride that showcased Samantha and Dev Mohan. Along with the lead actors, the clip’s euphoric background score heightens viewer anticipation as the movie’s release date is gradually revealed. The unveiling of the announcement video suggests that the upcoming movie will focus heavily on grandeur.

Aside from the release date announcement and new motion poster, two visually stunning character posters were also released previously. All of the key visuals released thus far hint at the cinematic brilliance to be revealed on big screens.

Gunasekhar directorial Shaakuntalam is based on Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Shakuntala. The film stars Samantha as Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta. Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Gautami, Madhoo, Kabir Bedi, Kabir Duhan Singh, Allu Arha, Varshini Sounderajan, and Malhottra Shivam will also star in pivotal roles. 

Gunaa Productions’ Neelima Guna bankrolled the upcoming film. Sri Venkateswara Creations will distribute the epic love story. Mani Sharma composed the music, and Sekhar V. Joseph handled the cinematography in the movie.
