INDIA: The highly entertaining horror comedy film Stree, which rocked box office records and left a mark on the audience, is back with a sequel. The second part of the film starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, making fans dance on their feet.
Now, Rao roped in endless theories about the shoot as he dropped a picture of him posing with Shraddha Kapoor. The on-screen duo of Shraddha and Raj looks cute as they smile together.
The Tu Jhoothi Mein Makkar actress looks elegant wearing a Pink bandhani dupatta and a black bindi. Shraddha donned bare minimal makeup on her face and kept one finger on her cheeks, whereas Rajkummar put fingers on his lips. The Newton actor posted the photo and teased fans about the same by writing, “क्या होगा जब फिर से मिलेंगे #स्त्री और #पुरुष। #Stree2. (What will happen when #woman and #man meet again. #Stree2).”
The commercial success of the first film led to the sequel Stree 2. On August 31st, 2024, the movie will be released, more than six years after the initial instalment. The first part of the movie ended with a twist, dropping major hints of a sequel. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting to witness the magic on screen.
Stree is a successful addition to the horror-comedy universe. The film takes place in the village of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, where an evil spirit known as ‘Stree’ preys on men at night during festival season. The storyline was influenced by the urban legend of “Nale Ba”, which went viral in Karnataka in the 1990s.
In addition to Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao will feature in Mr And Mrs Mahi alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Following Roohi, the movie also marks Rajkummar and Janhvi’s second collaboration.
