Sourav Ganguly Confirms Script for Biopic: Ex-cricketer Team up with ‘Luv Films’

INDIA: The much-awaited biopic of Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly is about to hit the big screens. Meanwhile, the ex- BCCI Chief revealed that he is writing the script all by himself. The film will be bankrolled by Luv Films.

According to reports, Sourav Ganguly reached Mumbai on January 23 to hear the script and screenplay before moving on to the next stage.

Ganguly, in his statement, confirmed, saying, “I’ll be in Mumbai for numerous projects. There are discussions about the biopic’s script. I’m composing the script on my own.”

“Luv Production House will discuss the screenplay. For several months, there was little development on the biopic. In truth, the work was slowing down due to my and the production house’s tight schedules. It will be completed swiftly this time,” Ganguly concluded.

If rumours are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor could play the role of the cricketer because of his excellent performance in Sanju. When Sourav was asked about the finalization of the lead actor, he said, “There has been no final decision. I’m hoping we’ll be able to offer something positive following the meeting.”

The final date of the release is kept under wraps as currently, Luv Ranjan production is busy promoting the upcoming film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

The biopic was declared earlier back in 2021, and Sourav Ganguly took to his Twitter handle and officially confirmed the update, “Cricket has been my life. It gave me confidence and the ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen.”
