Vivo Announces X90 Pro Plus Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor

CHINA: Vivo has introduced its flagship X90 series in China with the Vivo X90 Pro Plus, Vivo X90 Pro, and Vivo X90. 

The X90 Pro Plus is the most expensive model and features two telephoto cameras and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

The phone also has a primary camera with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, which the X90 Pro also utilises.

The X90 Pro and X90 both feature 120W fast charging capability and the Dimensity 9200 processor from MediaTek.

The three phones feature Vivo’s brand-new OriginOS 3 software and its own V2 ISP chip, significantly boosting low-light photography.

The Vivo X90 Pro Plus starts at CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs 74,500) for a model with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Buyers must pay CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs 80,200) for a model with twice as much storage.

There will be three storage options available for the Vivo X90 Pro: 8GB/256GB for CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 57,250), 12GB/256GB for CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs 63,000), and 12GB/512GB for CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 69,000).

The Vivo X90 will be available in four capacities: 8GB/128GB for CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs 42,500), 8GB/256GB for CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 46,000), 12GB/256GB for CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 51,500), and 12GB/512GB for CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 57,250).

The Vivo X90 Pro Plus has a 6.78-inch curved LTPS 4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 2K (1440p) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

The Samsung E6 panel has a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and can output 10 bits of colour. There is a punch hole in the middle and Dolby Vision playback support.

The X90 Pro Plus features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm and has storage of up to 512GB and up to 12GB RAM. The smartphone UI is OriginOS 3, based on Android 13.

The smartphone has four cameras: a primary 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor with a Zeiss T*-coated f/1.75 lens; a 64MP camera with 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom; a 50MP camera with an f/1.6 fixed-focus 50mm portrait lens; and another 48MP sensor behind an ultrawide angle lens with a 114-degree field of view.

ZEISS-style filters and 8K video recording at 30 frames per second are both supported. The X90 Pro Plus has a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The Vivo X90 Pro and X90 have similar 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,300 nits of maximum brightness. The Dimensity 9200 chip from MediaTek powers both of them.

All three models of the X90 will debut first in China, with open sales beginning on December 6th.
