UNITED STATES: This year’s Academy Awards were held uniquely as the attendees observed social distancing while going maskless. The awards were held at both the Dolby Theatre and Union Station. All nominees and guests attending the prestigious ceremony had undergone a minimum of two COVID-19 tests and were not required to wear a face mask while the cameras were rolling.

The ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic and took place two months after the originally planned date. The 93rd Academy Awards began with American actress-director Regina King grabbing an Oscar statue in Los Angeles and walking it inside while credits rolled featuring the show’s presenters. Just like 2020, there was no host in this year’s award ceremony.
