Shah is a versatile actor who is a recipient of three National Film Awards. He won his first National award in 1979 for his role in Sparsh. Later, he won his second and third awards in 1984 and 2005 for Paar and Iqbal respectively. On the work front, he was last seen in the 2020 drama ‘Mee Raqsam’ and Amazon Prime Video’s web series ‘Bandish Bandits’.

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher tweeted, “Sir Naseeruddin Shah sahib!! Pneumonia is seeking importance so it has decided to stick with you for a couple of days. Give it a quick shake off and get well!! Looking forward to working with you since a long time. Take care of yourself! Prayers for your good health.” The comments are especially surprising considering last year’s bitter row between the two of them.
