AI Job Opportunities Rise in India, Companies Offering Lucrative Salaries to Freshers and Professionals

INDIA: In India, the artificial intelligence industry is growing rapidly. There are job opportunities for both freshers and professionals. There were 45,000 open positions in AI, according to a report by TeamLease Digital published in February 2023. It was revealed that the annual salaries ranged from 10 lakh ($12,100) to 14 lakh ($16,940) for freshers. 

The report highlights the different technology roles that are currently in demand, with business intelligence analysts, data scientists, and engineers among the most in-demand positions. In India, freshers can make up to 14 lakhs ($16,940) per year in these positions, while professionals with at least eight years of experience can expect to make between 25 lakhs ($30,250) to 45 lakhs (54,450) per annum.

The report also lists a number of specialised AI jobs in healthcare, education, BFSI, manufacturing, and retail, among other major industries.Healthcare jobs in AI include clinical data analysts, medical imaging specialists, and health informatics analysts, while education roles include AI learning architects, ed-tech product managers, and chatbot developers. 

In BFSI, jobs include credit risk analysts, fraud analysts, and compliance specialists, while manufacturing roles include industrial data scientists, QC analysts, and robotics engineers.

In the retail sector, AI job roles include retail data analysts, digital imaging leaders, and IT process modellers.

Upskilling is critical for professionals to make the most of the opportunities in the AI industry. The report highlights that organizations are taking initiatives to provide relevant AI training to their employees.

For example, 37% of organisations said that they prefer to give their employees the right tools to build an AI-ready workforce, and 30% of organisations said that AI learning initiatives are necessary to find hidden talents in the workforce.

The CEO of TeamLease Digital, Sunil Chemmankotil, recognizes the significance of the AI revolution and the urgent need for skilled professionals who can design, develop, and implement cutting-edge AI technologies. 

He says that his company is committed to helping job seekers find the best AI jobs possible.

According to the report, a majority of employees share the sentiments of their employers. For example, 55% of employees expressed that AI unlocks new job opportunities, while 54% of employees stressed the fact that organizations take upskilling and reskilling initiatives to have a future-ready workforce.

More than 40% of employees think that AI capabilities are improved by building capabilities in-house and using AI in day-to-day work.
