UNITED STATES: Marvel revealed new details about the upcoming Avengers film at the San Diego Comic-Con. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars have joined the roster of forthcoming superhero crossovers.
Phase 4 initiated the Multiverse Saga
Marvel captivated the fans at the San Diego Comic-Con with phase 5 and phase 6 revelations. Finally, the most widely anticipated MCU initiatives arrived with a bang. The studios unveiled dozens of new shows and films for the upcoming phases.
Phase 4 of the MCU began with Black Widow and will conclude with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Though most of the studio’s films earned mixed reviews this year, it appears like Marvel is preparing for the next phase.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Phase 4 laid the groundwork for the multiverse concept. Kevin Fiege, Marvel’s CEO, also revealed that the future phases would eventually result in the Multiverse Saga.
Kang the Conqueror will appear as the new threat to the multiverse
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be released in theatres on May 2, 2025. The film’s title alludes to the MCU’s new main adversary, originally hinted at in the Loki series. Kang The Conqueror is now identified as an upcoming threat to the Marvel universe. The character’s abilities include time travel, which opens the flood gate to the multiverse-level threat.
Jonathan Majors as Kang is also debuting with his full potential in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Recently, footage for the film was shown at Comic-Con, with Ant-Man claiming, “I am an Avenger,” to which Kang counters, “You’re an Avenger? Have I killed you before?” The video was only shown at the panel and has yet to be released online.
Avengers: Secret Wars will be released theatrically on November 7, 2025, following Avengers 5. Doctor Strange 2 also made numerous references to incursions that hinted at the secret wars. It is believed that Kang may cause a big blunder in the timeline, resulting in the events of Avengers 6.
Secret Wars will be loosely adapted from the 2015 comic book of the same name, which centred on the collision of the Marvel 616 Universe and the Ultimate Marvel 1610 Universe. Similarly, Avengers 6 might contain a clash between the main Marvel reality and the featured universes in the recent films.
Previously, trademarks for the upcoming Avengers film were leaked. Following the new films and series’ announcement, the leaks appear correct. Aside from Avengers 5 and 6, the leak also included the trademark for Avengers: Eternity Wars, which has yet to be officially confirmed.
