The Mumbai police have begun strict action against those roaming in public places without a face mask and have taken action against nearly 58,000 people with a collection of a fine of Rs.1.6 crore in the last 13 days.

Due to spike in COVID-19 cases a week-long lockdown has been imposed in Amravati district in the Vidarbha region of Eastern Maharashtra. Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal in the same region, observed a lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. The district administration in Pune shut down schools and coaching centers till February 28 because of rising cases in the state. Similarly, the political, religious, and social gatherings have been banned throughout the state.
