The “I Matter Equally Initiative” is one of the projects run by the Chidinma Ibemere Foundation.
The objective of the initiative is to amplify the essence of equality among people living with disabilities as well as actively partnering with men/boys in ensuring gender equality is achieved.
According to Ibemere, the outreach helped in reminding the students that they are special and they matter equally regardless of their vulnerable realities.
“It was beautiful to witness the various ways in which they express happiness. Their happiness made me feel fulfilled. We will do more of these programs so that these people with special needs will feel loved in the society”, the Lead Volunteer said.
The Programme had various sessions which included words of affirmation that were interpreted to the children.
