INDIA: Gangster Raju Theth was shot dead near his house by members of the most-wanted Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Rajasthan’s Sikar on Saturday.
According to reports, alleged perpetrator Rohit Godara, an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was held responsible for the murder. The cold-blooded murder was revenge for the murders of his brothers, Anand Pal and Balbir Banda.
In the recent update, five accused who were involved in the murder of gangster Raju have been arrested. Two of them were arrested in Haryana’s Dabla, while the other three were apprehended in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu.
The murderers were identified as Naveen Meghwal, Jitin Meghwal, Satish Kumhar, Manish Jat, and Vikram Gujjar; among them, Manish Jat and Vikram Gujjar belong to Raju’s hometown, Sikar. As per sources, huge amounts of arms and ammunition have been recovered from them.
The entire incident is caught on CCTV footage, which shows the murderers openly firing at the gangster and fleeing from the spot while some people panicked and ran away.
Raju was standing outside his house when the mishap broke. Currently, heavy police have been deployed on the spot.
In Sikar, the “Teja Sena” reportedly called a bandh in protest of the killing of gangster Raju Theth. Protesters demanded justice outside the hospital mortuary where the gangster’s body was kept.
According to reports, an anonymous man who was shot during the shootout died later from his injuries. The man was identified as Tarachand Jaat, who came to meet his daughter, who is said to be staying in a hostel near the crime scene.
Demised Raju Theth, who was on bail and facing several criminal charges, had a rivalry with criminal Anand Pal Singh, who was killed in a police encounter in June 2017.
