INDIA: In Ian Chappell’s analysis of Australia’s victory over India in the Indore Test, he said that one of the main disparities in the series has been the hosts’ lack of Rishabh Pant.

Pant suffered serious injuries in a terrible vehicle accident in December of last year, and he underwent surgery to heal them. Now, it is anticipated that the wicketkeeper will be off the field for a sizable period.

KS Bharat has been keeping wickets in the absence of Pant during the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Bharat hasn’t been particularly impressive with the bat, though.

Many believed that Pant’s ability to put pressure back on the opposition was necessary in Indore, when Australia defeated the opposition by a margin of nine wickets.

Chappell said in an interview that one of the major disparities has been the lack of Rishabh Pant for the hosts and that everyone is gradually realising how crucial the 25-year-old is to the Indian team.

“One of the significant issues is that the current Indian side misses Rishabh Pant.” “They have begun to recognise the significance of Rishabh Pant to the Indian side,” said Chappell.

Danish Kaneria, a former spinner for Pakistan, shared the same viewpoint and claimed that if Pant had been in the starting lineup, Matt Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon would not have been spared.

“If you asked Rishabh Pant for advice on how to tackle these spinners, he would suggest using your feet, getting near the pitch of the ball, and blasting the ball far”, said Kaneria.

Kaneria further added, “In his presence, Lyon and Kuhnemann would not have been spared. He was going to attack them and make them modify their lengths. “The performance of Indian batters has been lacking.”
