The Caribbean Premier League and Australia’s Big Bash are two contests that are similar to the highly lucrative franchise T20 event known as the IPL, which is funded by wealthy businesspeople and entertainment celebrities. As a result, international T20 players can earn a comfortable livelihood without having to represent their nations.

It is anticipated that by the time the Indian economy approaches parity with the size of the United States in 2040, it will have grown significantly. This may lead to IPL’s value being six times what it is today. Strauss made the above prediction while delivering the Cowdrey lecture at Lord’s.

The emergence of franchise cricket is unquestionably one of the greatest steps forward if you allow yourself to remain committed to the thesis that the goal of the game is to bring diverse people together, whether they are participating in it or simply watching it, and to enable cricket to educate and connect.

Regarding the new Women’s Premier League, which features five teams, Strauss claimed it would “accelerate” the development of women’s cricket.

Women’s cricket is anticipated to rank among the top three sports in terms of earning possibilities for young girls who have the talent and desire to pursue a career in sports.
