UNITED STATES: Lenovo has announced the upcoming release of its highly anticipated ThinkReality VRX virtual reality headset in select markets. Specifically designed for enterprise users, the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 processor powers this cutting-edge VR headset and operates on the Android 12 platform.

The ThinkReality VRX headset offers versatility by functioning as both a standalone device and an accessory that is compatible with a PC or workstation, either wired or wirelessly.

Lenovo prides itself on the headset’s slim and lightweight design, which provides users with enhanced comfort during prolonged use. With its 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) capability, users can experience a fully immersive virtual reality environment.

Moreover, the headset’s full-colour, high-resolution pass-through capabilities prove invaluable in various simulation scenarios.

Equipped with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the ThinkReality VRX boasts an impressive resolution of 2280 x 2280 per eye and a refresh rate of 70–90Hz.

Its wide 95-degree field of view enhances the sense of immersion, while integrated speakers, dual microphones, and a 3.5mm audio jack ensure a complete audio experience.

The headset also includes 6DoF controllers, supports hand tracking, and features convenient buttons on the headset itself. To power these features, the ThinkReality VRX relies on a robust 6,900mAh battery that users can charge via USB-C.

Like the Meta Quest Pro, Lenovo’s ThinkReality VRX headset employs pancake lenses stacked on each other, incorporating a sophisticated venting system that effectively dissipates heat away from the user’s face.

In addition to the hardware, Lenovo offers ThinkReality xR Services, a comprehensive suite of XR solutions that includes a cloud platform for global deployment and management of enterprise applications. These services cover every aspect of customer support, from strategy development to final delivery.

The ThinkReality VRX headset joins Lenovo’s current hardware lineup of commercial XR solutions, including the ThinkReality A3 AR glasses, unveiled earlier this year at MWC 2023.

With prices starting at $1,299, the ThinkReality VRX will be available for purchase in select markets starting in June of this year.

With the launch of the ThinkReality VRX, Lenovo aims to revolutionise enterprise virtual reality experiences by providing businesses with a powerful tool for training, collaboration, and immersive simulations.

As virtual reality continues to evolve, Lenovo’s commitment to pushing boundaries in the enterprise sector reaffirms its position as an industry leader.
